The headquarters is a publishing house that was founded in 2007. He has also been operating in London since 2014. It was created on the initiative of Michał Słomka - a cultural historian and Marianna Serocka and Monika Szydłowska - two cartoonists. Marianna Serocka graduated from the Faculty of Painting of the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, and Monika Szydłowska defended her diploma at the Faculty of Graphics of the Artistic University of Poznań.

Michał Słomka - the main originator of the undertaking - wrote books about a comic in Central Europe. He also founded Cheap East, the first comic gallery in Poland. Its opening took place in Poznań in 2013 during the "Ligatura" International Comic Culture Festival. The coordinator of the headquarters project can also boast of translations, e.g. the three -volume Czech graphic novel "Alois Nebel" by Jaroslav Rudiš. Michał Słomka is the winner of the Golden Art Medal in the Culture Animation category.

Wise comics

The research, an expositional and publishing project is primarily aimed at presenting the art readers with the so-called wise comic, which is distributed by artists from Central European countries. These activities are to serve as a counterweight to the French and English works dominating on the publishing market. Their goal is to promote the art of Central Europe comic. The activities of the Centrala publishing house are both preparing publications for printing and:

• exposing comics on thematic presentations,
• organizing meetings with authors and critics,
• Planning various events, e.g. concerts, projections and festivals, etc., aimed at familiarizing a wide audience with the culture of Central European countries.

The founders of the publishing house also run workshops for students who are interested in creating drawings.

Comic stories about Hilda's adventures

The humorous series was released by the Centralka publishing house, i.e. a separate headquarters of the headquarters. Hilda is a charming and brave several -year -old who is the main heroine of Luke Pearson's comic. A small girl with characteristic blue hair, big eyes and thin legs is known for the animated series made by Netflix.
