The book "understand Montessori. Or Maria Montessori about raising a child" aims to present the basic concepts of Maria Montessori pedagogical theory.

He focuses on clarifying the understanding by Montessori education of children, especially the child's development and the importance of the educational environment. The first chapter contains a short biography of Maria Montessori and her path as a pedagogue, from medicine to general pedagogy. The second chapter describes the concept of child development, including original elements of Montessori views, such as sensitive phases, absorbing psyche and normalization. Chapter three draws attention to the prepared environment in which the child can find impulses necessary for individual and social development. This chapter also focuses on the description of the prepared environment in the kindergarten, taking into account the development aids of Montessori and the correlation between the child's development and the arrangement of the prepared environment.

Finally, the book is trying to define education in Montessori and explain its pedagogical message through a metateoretical analysis. The book ends with the biography of Montessori, the choice of Polish literature on this subject and annexes. The values ​​of montessori pedagogy are emphasized to show its relevance in contemporary education about education.
